the thing about tumblr is that it’s always had rss feeds, so it’s always been possible to follow someone without actually having a tumblr account (even after they started adding login walls). if you are looking for new places to post, please consider whether it’s possible for people to follow and view your posts there without having an account. i love you guys but there are artists whose work i haven’t seen in years because i’m not making a ZuckMuskDotOrg account just to see what they’re up to.

this is also why it’s not actually possible to use RSS as a functional tag on tumblr
(not that anyone asked but mastodon’s feeds are server.whatever/@username.rss, dreamwidth is username.dreamwidth.org/data/rss, and cohost is cohost.org/username/rss/public.atom)

im gonna say it now so everyone in my notes stops arguing over this. meatballs menu is three dots side-by-side. kebab menu is three dots up and down. bento menu is an array of 9 dots in a square shape. hamburger menu is three lines horizontally. Yes there are others but none of them are nearly as prevalent so i dont care enough to list them. goot bye
